so jake is now 11 months old (!!!) and we do a lot of reading. right now the books we read are mostly short board books that he has a hard time lasting through without trying to chew on the corner. i love reading, and i really hope he acquires a love for books like mine. i can't wait for him to fall in love with my favorite children's books. my mom is a lover of books as well, and she has amassed a small treasure trove of my brothers and my favorite books as children for jake and her future grandchildren. lately i've been thinking of some of the ones i for sure want to own for when jake actually has the patience to sit and listen to a whole book start to finish (then beg me to read it again). here are some of my favorites (and my brothers too... hopefully jake won't mind a princess or two in his stories).
So, yes, i have been neglecting my blogging duties, but lets be honest: this is not my job, nor does anyone really rely on me posting to get through the day, so for now, i'm not worried about it. i guess i just really haven't had much to say lately... i still don't really. i haven't been running because i threw my back out (again) and i am finally resigned to going to physical therapy to see if we can't fix this pesky problem i have that seems to come back every few months. i've been told otherwise, but i seriously think i have sciatica or something. isn't that something only old people get? i just hope to get to the bottom of this, or i might subject myself to the embarrassment of getting one of those upside-down-back-pain-cure-machines. We can be serious and say that i wouldn't look nearly as serene in spandex hanging upside-down, so lets hope we figure out my back issues. I really was enjoying running, but now i am probably going to have to star…
we just got back from a quick little getaway to the coast for our 4th anniversary. for years i've seen the sign for "seabrook" on the side of the freeway in fife and i have been wanting to go for a long time. we finally booked the trip a few weeks ago. the cottage we stayed in was incredibly cute, and we had such a good time. i think we would have had an even better time if jake wasn't so fussy... it was probably my mistake eating broccoli for dinner. gassy baby = cranky baby. i'm still learning, obviously. here are some pictures from our trip.
boston did a lot of relaxing and absolutely loved the beach.
this is one of jakes finer moments of the trip (ie he is not crying)
picnic out of the back of the car.
4 years and still going strong :) love this man!
